When to visit Vietnam is a very common question but not easy to answer if you do not live in Vietnam. Vietnam is divided into 3 main parts but it is known to many people that there are two main climate regions. The North covering a larger area from Ha Giang province to Hue city has harder climate conditions. The Summer in some provinces in the North is very hot due to effect of Laos wind, The Winter is prettily cold especially in some mountainous areas. The 2008 winter was recorded as the longest and hardest winter in the history which has done serious damage to crops and health of local people. Climate in the South is different. There are two seasons only.

So when to visit Vietnam? In my opinion, it is the best to visit Vietnam in months from August to March annually. Some people prefer visiting the North in June and July since these two months are sunny and very suitable to visit Halong bay which has been two times recognized as World Heritage sites by UNESCO.

You are recommended to bring with you a warm coat if you expect your trip to Vietnam in October, November, December or January annually. During these months, it is pretty cold and rainy in some days. Snow is strange to the majority of Vietnamese so winter is the time for some people to climb up mountains to experience snow fall.

After Vietnam national holidays which is often called Tet's holidays, many traditional festivals are held. Spring can also be known as the festival season. If you are interested in joining festivals, you can make your tour to Vietnam in this time.

It is up to you to visit Vietnam but the best time to do that is from August to March annually.
